DY CHANDRACHUD

Dhananjaya Yeshwant Chandrachud (born November 11, 1959) is a renowned Indian judge and the  Chief Justice of India (CJI).

 

Early Life and Education:

 

1. Born in Mumbai to Justice Y.V. Chandrachud, the 16th CJI.

2. Graduated from St. Stephen's College, Delhi (1980).

3. LL.B. from Delhi University (1983).

4. Postgraduate diploma in law from Harvard University (1986).

 

Career:

 

1. Practiced law at the Mumbai High Court (1982-1998).

2. Additional Solicitor General of India (1998-2000).

3. Judge, Bombay High Court (2000-2013).

4. Chief Justice, Allahabad High Court (2013-2014).
